Wanting to go outside to the trampoline
Around 10:30 pm, Bilal began shouting “trampoline, trampoline.” Staff redirected him by showing him through the lounge window that it was raining and too late to go outside. Bilal then bit his hand and punched a staff member. Staff used a calming prompt (“finish, finish”) to de-escalate, after which he ran to his room. Shortly after, Bilal returned and began spitting at staff. Staff maintained a safe distance and continued verbal redirection. He then appeared to respond to unseen stimuli and moved to his bedroom door, slamming it twice before entering his room. Once inside, he began masturbating. During this time, the door handle became detached; staff retrieved the loose handle and screws to ensure safety. No injuries noted on staff or Bilal
